Using Delfins
Power Glide with Delfins. Experiment with new hydrofoil based Delfins.
Check out how far you can glide while wearing Delfins. Push off from the wall of a swimming pool using a snorkel or dive gear and see how far you can glide. Our tests allowed us to glide further with Delfins than we could with booties or with any other fin tested. You can use Delfins with any type of kick for diving, tech diving, free diving, snorkeling, swimming, cross training or tube fishing. Every type of kick works better with Delfins because you Power Glide further with each kick due to the hydrofoils on Delfins.
Delfins give you thrust in both phases of your kicking stoke. There is no recovery stroke because both phases give you power and help you glide further.
Try a new kick called a piston kick. A piston kick can be tried by swimming on your back near the surface and bending your knees near or above the surface. Push your heels away from you in line with the surface while allowing your feet to relax. Feel the Delfins do the work by helping you glide and flipping back and forth for you! Your heels are moving like pistons. When you get a strong sense of propulsion, the Delfins are producing more power, more control, and more thrust more efficiently because they create less drag. This kicking technique is one of many that you should try. Generally speaking, the smaller the size of your kicking stroke combined with a faster frequency, the easier it is to move through the water because you create less drag. In certain activies like free diving, tech diving, or underwater photography, the higher frequency may work contra to the purpose of the activity and then a slower more normal scuba kicking technique is best.
Experiment and enjoy the feeling that true hydrofoils bring to moving you through the water. Try larger slower strokes, smaller faster strokes and all kinds of strokes in between.
If it suits your purpose, remember that after you get up to speed in the water, using smaller, quicker, and relaxed movements like fish do to generates more power with more efficiency and less drag. Slower and larger strokes can offer a good change to your diving or swimming and use different muscles in a refreshing way. Enjoy.
